Below are some Discipleship opportunities for this Summer:

Worship: Churchese in 10 Easy Lessons
We use a lot of big words in the church (“churchese”) that we use nowhere else—words like Sanctification, Redemption, Justification, etc. These are great words—words right out of the Bible. But they are words (and concepts) that we have a hard time explaining when God calls us to be missionaries outside of the church. So most often we don’t talk about them at all except in church. We can’t resort to that. The ideas are too important. As disciples of Jesus we must know what they mean and be able to help others understand them. This summer, we will tackle one of these words each week so that we gain a better appreciation of God’s love for us and are better equipped as Jesus’ disciples. This begins June 7.

Bible Study: No Questions Asked
Have you ever stayed away from Bible study because you were afraid the pastor or teacher would ask you a question you couldn’t answer and embarrass you? Now is your chance to put the shoe on the other foot. Over the summer we will try an experiment in Pastor Hugo’s Bible class. He will ask no questions. But you can ask all the questions you like. We will be going through John’s Gospel, a couple of chapters a week. We will use the Visual Bible—a word for word translation of the Bible, We will watch a portion each week and learn what it means to us as disciples of Jesus. But we will learn by you asking the questions instead of answering them. Begins June 7 at 9:30 in the Fellowship Hall.

Bible Study: Stressed Out—Living in the Fast Lane
Dealing with stress from work, relationships, change, lack of balance? This summer we will be offering a Bible class for those in stress. We will take a different portion of Scripture each week where God speaks to us about His love and His control in different areas of lives. Begins June 7 at 9:30 in the Willer Room.
