The music program at St. Matthew exists to praise and magnify God through music and to enhance the worship experience of the congregation. The program encourages the participation of as many people as possible, and seeks to provide a quality musical and spiritual experience that is both fun and rewarding!

Children’s Choir
Children’s Choir is open to all children in the community from kindergarten through grade 4. Rehearsals are normally held on Wednesdays from 6:00 to 6:45 p.m., September thru May. (Hand in Hand, a midweek Christian education program immediately follows Children’s Choir for this age group also.) This choir provides music for worship twice a month and also participates in the Spring Musical each year, as well as several outings and parties.
St. Matthew Singers
This group is open to any interested high school age students through adults. Rehearsals are normally held on Thursdays from 6:30-7:45 p.m. Providing music for weekly worship services and holiday festival services keeps this group very busy!
Music Team
This group of instrumentalists and singers helps lead the congregation singing at our weekly 10:45 a.m. contemporary worship service and other events.
Christmas Cantata
A highlight of our choir program is the presentation of a Christmas cantata on the Sunday before Christmas. Once again, this is open to anyone high school age or older. Rehearsals are held on Thursdays from 7:30 to 8:30 for about six weeks before Christmas.
Musicals
A rich tradition began at St. Matthew a decade ago as we involved the entire congregation in the presentation of larger musical events. We welcome and encourage all ages from the community to join us as actors, singers, instrumentalists, stage builders, costume sewers, and other behind-the-scenes helpers. “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat,” “The Sound of Music,” “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown,” “Bye, Bye Birdie” and “Fiddler on the Roof” are some previous productions.
