The mission of St. Matthew Lutheran Church is to Connect people to the love of Christ, Nurture people with a faith centered in Christ, and Empower people for Christian Living in the world.
We do this through a variety of ministries:
Worship: We offer a variety of Christ-centered, life-directed, Scripture-based worship service.
Music and Drama Ministry: Do you enjoy music or drama? We have a lot going on in those areas.
Outreach: Connecting people to Jesus at St. Matthew happens in a number of ways.
David’s Christian Learning Center: This is St. Matthew’s preschool and childcare which provides full-day programs for infants, toddlers and preschoolers (6 weeks through 5 years).
Missions: We believe that our mission is not only to the community of Columbia Heights, but extends around the world. We partner with people locally, nationally and globally to share the message of Jesus.
Children’s Ministry: We have opportunties for children to be connected, nurtured and empowered several times throughout the week.
Education: Education is one of the many ways we nurture people in the Christian faith and empower them for Christian living in the world.

Caring/Befriender Ministry: Whether you need to be cared for would like to care for someone else, there is a place for you here.
Living Stones: This is a ministry which will empower you to find the unique gifts and passions God has given you and use them for His glory.
St. Matthew Sudanese: We have been blessed by God to welcome the Nuer speaking people from South Sudan into our congregation.
Grace International: This is our daughter congregation–a predominantly Liberian congregation that is reaching out to people from West Africa and all over the world who live in the Twin Cities.
